Elham Primary School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school. It is located in the picturesque village of Elham midway between Canterbury and Folkestone.
Being a small school, Elham would provide the ideal environment for a new Headteacher. With well maintained buildings and extensive grounds, housing amongst other things our “Trademark” Forest School, the school’s facilities are second to none. We particularly value our relationship with the Rector and Congregation of St Mary’s Church and indeed with the entire vibrant village community.
The school lies in the Kent Downs National Landscape and has extensive grounds which accommodate the playground, play areas, playing fields and the Forest School.
The school buildings predominantly date from the 1970s although the Victorian building that housed the original village school lies in our grounds. The buildings are well maintained and a major new heating system which includes an air source heat pump was installed last summer.
There are around 100 children on roll who come not only from Elham Village and Parish, but also surrounding villages, Hawkinge and Folkestone. A common theme of all recent Inspection Reports is how well behaved, sociable and caring the children are.
We have high standards and want the best for all of our children.
While results are significant, we pride ourselves on providing our children with exciting experiences- a curriculum of core knowledge, skills and understanding together with confidence in their mind, body and soul with well-being at its centre is what we are about. We want our children to be well-rounded individuals, strong in mind with a lifelong love of learning.
We love to be outside at Elham Primary- our Forest School provides all the children with opportunities to learn with nature at its core. We also love sports and enjoy trying new things!
We are very proud of our school!
