SIAMS Inspection Report November 2024
The Governors of Elham C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher to take our successful village Primary School forward and to build on its many strengths and the exceptional spirit, family atmosphere and Christian ideals that characterise our school.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a leader with vision, compassion and ambition, and who can support our Christian ethos, to ensure that our amazing children are able to happily thrive and achieve their full potential whatever their circumstances and challenges.
Our top-quality staff will provide outstanding support for the new Head and will relish new and dynamic leadership. The Governors equally are passionately committed to the future of Elham School and look forward to working with, and supporting, a new Headteacher.
Being a small school of around 100 children, Elham would provide the ideal environment for a new Headteacher. With well maintained buildings and extensive grounds, housing amongst other things our “Trademark” Forest School, the school’s facilities are second to none. We particularly value our relationship with the Rector and Congregation of St Mary’s Church and indeed with the entire vibrant village community.
What we are looking for:
- An inspirational and influential leader for staff, pupils, parents and the local community, developing engagement with the school’s Christian vision and values which impact on school improvement.
- An individual who can create a trusting and collaborative ethos within which all staff are motivated and communicate effectively.
- A leader who ensures that teachers and other staff have consistently high expectations of what each pupil can achieve and therefore ensures that pupils are effectively prepared for their next phase of education and life.
- An expert practitioner in planning and delivering a high-quality provision, which secures strong outcomes and closes attainment gaps for all vulnerable groups.
- Someone who is adaptable to changing circumstances, accepts new ideas and change initiatives and deals with ambiguity, making positive use of the opportunities it presents.
- Commitment to upholding, promoting and developing the school’s distinctive Christian vision, values and character.
- A leader to nurture a culture where every child flourishes academically, socially, physically and spiritually.
What we can offer:
- A happy, caring community.
- A vibrant curriculum that is ambitious and broad.
- Pupils are enthusiastic learners.
- An environment that lives up to the school’s and Christian values, which underpin all that the school does. Pupils show this through their conduct, attitudes and behaviour.
- A commitment to support the health and wellbeing of all staff at the school.
- A supportive network within the school.
- Appropriate and regular wellbeing training and mentoring.
Please come to see our school for yourself and you will soon realise what makes our school family and especially our children so special. We look forward to you not only being part of that family but also our new leader.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students.
