Local Area
Gravesend lies in the northwest of Kent on the south bank of the Thames estuary and is the administrative centre of the Borough of Gravesham with a population of more than 55,000.
Gravesend is very well connected; it’s an hour’s drive to London, four trains an hour to Charing Cross (one hour), half hourly trains to St Pancras (23 minutes) and four an hour to Rochester (15 minutes). The A2 links to the M25 in 10 minutes, Canterbury in 45 minutes and down the road is either a 15 minute drive or 7 minute train journey.
Venturing outside of Gravesend will reward you with picturesque villages and the North Downs; the countryside to the east and south of Gravesend is an exceptional Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, containing Ancient Woodland and Country Parks, country houses and cricket on the green.
