Position start date: September 2024

The Governors of Cobham Primary School are looking for an exceptional individual to become our new headteacher from September 2024. The school is one form entry, in the heart of the Kent village of Cobham and lives by its motto of ‘Caring, Proud, Successful’. We are looking for an individual who can maintain and continue to drive forward high standards whilst bringing a sense of fun to the school.

Alongside the job description we are looking for a candidate who:

  • is child focused – our children are our most important stakeholders and the heart of everything we do;
  • is an inspirational leader – we want someone who can inspire children, staff and families to be the best that they can be;
  • is committed to becoming part of our school family and champion inclusion and the wellbeing of both staff and children;
  • has high standards – we are an outstanding primary school with strong results. We rarely stand still and are always challenging ourselves on how things can be done better.

We can offer you:

  •  a ‘family’ – being the headteacher of Cobham is more than a job, it is also being a central member of a strong family consisting of great teachers and supportive families in a mixed community
  • a strong, proactive board of governors who allow the headteacher independence to make decisions and lead whilst maintaining support, constructive challenge and oversight;
  • a successful PTA that raises money annually for extra resources, for example iPads and playground equipment.
  •

Our children, and therefore we, would like you to:

  • be a happy person who is always optimistic;
  • be kind and thoughtful;
  • be strict enough but not extremely strict;
  • keep organising fun events and give us chances to try new things;
  • be understanding that children can make mistakes.

Above and beyond everything, the successful candidate will not only know and understand our TRUST values, but will be able to articulate, clearly and passionately, how these values will be lived by you - every day.
If you think you’re ready to become part of, and lead, the Cobham family we do hope you’ll apply and we look forward to considering your application.
