Cheriton Primary School has an amazing opportunity to join their 'Good' (OFSTED, October 2019) two form entry school on the outskirts of Folkestone.

Governors are seeking to appoint a talented individual to lead their highly successful leadership team. The new Headteacher will lead the school from strength to strength on its continuous journey of improvement and will put the pupils at the heart of everything they do, striving to meet their needs and maximising their opportunities.

The school boasts a rich, diverse multi-racial and multi-lingual community with strong links to the Armed Forces and the Co-operative movement both Nationally and Internationally. Cheriton Primary School provides an exciting and thriving environment for children, staff and the community.

The Governors are looking for a Headteacher who:

  • Can demonstrate substantive successful school senior leadership experience.
  • Demands ambitious standards for all pupils.
  • Has excellent communication skills, and is able to continue to engage and forge positive partnerships with children, parents, staff, governors, partnership schools in the Vicus Trust and the local community.
  • Has an understanding of the unique challenges children of military families face in education.
  • Is able to lead, support and inspire a highly experienced staff team.
  • Is able to effectively safeguard children and staff, by promoting a positive culture and by prioritising pupil and staff wellbeing.
  • Importantly, is led by values and driven by making a real difference to the lives of our children and families.
