Our curriculum is inspiring, innovative and inclusive ensuring children reach their full potential academically, emotionally and socially.

Aylesham Primary School is a 'Good' school in all areas following an OfSTED Inspection in December 2017.

We have a warm, friendly and supportive team who work alongside enthusiastic children with a desire to learn.

Children work towards 4 core values that help them grow and learn -
Resilience (represented by the Emperor Penguin)
Teamwork (the Honey Bee)
Creativity (the Octopus)
Flying High (the Sky Lark)

These help them to do their best with their learning and attitudes as the children enjoy working towards these values. Our topics focus on a ‘learning experience’-based curriculum with authentic and meaningful outcomes. We have made progress in raising our standards but recognise there is still work to be done. We expect our Headteacher to work closely with our highly committed and enthusiastic senior leadership team, our staff, governors and our community to achieve our vision of raising the aspirations of our children and ensuring that they reach their full potential.

The school is two form entry, the current number of pupils is 392 and continuing to grow.

The accommodation new in September 2017 is a two storey building, situated in extensive grounds in the heart of Aylesham Garden Village, in the heart of the Kent countryside, six miles south of Canterbury, serving Aylesham and the surrounding villages. Each classroom has first class facilities, including state-of-the-art touch screen interactive whiteboards, a new bespoke library, design technology room, a large school hall and studio for P.E, games, movement and drama.

The extensive grounds have a junior size football pitch as well as new hard and soft play areas. There is great potential to develop learning in the outdoors with a gardening area and the possibility for a forest school.

The excellent teachers and support staff work together and are dedicated to the wellbeing and growth of each pupil in their education and attitudes towards learning and life. We have a dedicated Welfare Team for pupils who require this support.

The school also has a breakfast club and offers wraparound care facilities together with afterschool and holiday clubs.

Aylesham works collaboratively with 9 other schools as part of the Samphire Learning Hub promoting the raising of standards and sharing professional practice for all teachers, with the Headteachers offering each other mutual support.
