Wrotham Road Primary School

Gravesend

School Description

Wrotham Road Primary is a large multi-cultural school in the heart of Gravesend. The school is popular and successful and in July 2016 received a "Good" in our Ofsted inspection. We believe that our school is a happy, supportive, learning environment where we endeavour to provide the best education we can. We create an atmosphere that is vibrant and organised which enhances, stimulates and motivates all who work in it.

Wrotham Road is now part of "The Pathway Academy Trust". TPAT consists of 5 schools: Riverview Infants, Riverview Juniors, Culverstone Green and Meopham Community Academy School. This provides opportunities for career progression allowing us to keep the very best staff within the Trust.

The Pathway Academy Trust is ‘dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to achieve a remarkable life’. TPAT is a small local trust that puts children at the heart of its decision making. We understand the value of strong collaborations in achieving our goal. Working for TPAT offers our employees a wealth of opportunities for professional development as well as an emphasis on wellbeing. Our Staff Charter is our pledge to put employees at the centre of our organisation. Our Staff Charter and Wellbeing package can be found on our website. Some of the benefits in our Staff Charter include: - Two additional days off per year, one as a 'Happy Birthday' from the Trust, following a successful probation period, which can be taken during term time - Free breakfast club place for your child if you work in breakfast club or after-school club, and half price places for other staff members - Subsidised eye test and contribution to glasses for eligible computer users - Annual flu vaccination - Free tea, coffee and refreshments - Christmas lunch - Termly breakfast for all staff .

The Pathway Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role will involve contact with children, referred to as 'regulated activity', therefore all applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

The Pathway Academy Trust, an equal opportunities employer, values the diversity of our workforce and the knowledge of our people. The Trust provides all qualified applicants consideration for employment without regard to age, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other legally protected basis, in accordance with applicable law. The Pathway Academy Trust is committed to providing reasonable adjustments to individuals with disabilities.
