Are you self-motivated, highly organised and have a good range of practical skills?

Yes? Then read on as this may be the perfect role for you…

Viking Academy Trust is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join our Premises Team working predominately at Chilton Primary School.

There are lots of special reasons for becoming part of ‘Team Viking' - we are a fabulous, caring school community that puts our ‘One Childhood One Chance’ philosophy at the centre of everything we do.

Above all you need to like children, to want the very best for them & be prepared to put their needs first. It’s all about making sure we're safe and secure, everything working correctly and efficiently as well as keeping the school looking smart. Duties will include daily cleaning responsibilities, general maintenance of the school premises; some out of hours opening for lettings; ensuring the security of the school, regular health and safety checks and general janitorial duties.

The successful candidate will take pride in ensuring the school is clean, tidy and a safe environment. They will need to be competent at DIY tasks and be able to work both on their own initiative and under the guidance of others.

We have a minibus that is in constant use and although not essential, it would be very useful to have category D1 on your licence and some experience of driving minibuses.

The hours available have some flexibility for the right candidate(s) with either full time or part time hours to suit the requirement, if you would be interested in the role but could only commit to part time hours then come and talk to us. The contract is for 52 weeks a year and pay will be on Kent Range 3 £18,425 pro rata.

Application deadline closes: Wednesday 9th February 2022 at 12 pm

Information about the trust

The Viking Academy Trust is a primary only, Multi-Academy Trust consisting of three inspirational schools: Upton Junior School, Chilton Primary School and Ramsgate Arts Primary School.

Our One Childhood One Chance philosophy resonates throughout everything we do at the Viking Academy Trust.

At Viking, we make sure that our ultimate focus and core purpose remains excellent teaching and learning for every child. Our teaching is progressive and adaptive and we strive for the best outcomes for all. We invest time and training into our staff so that they can invest their skills and expertise into our children.

For children to thrive, they need to feel that they belong. Our people and our environments are warm and welcoming. Every member of our staff invests in building strong relationships with children and getting to know children well means we can focus on equity of opportunity.

This means that we can prioritise social and emotional learning along with the academic as we know that children need to learn how to be resilient, to have healthy and safe relationships and to face the world with problem solving skills.

We nurture children to become responsible citizens, ready to face the modern world and to make the most of their every potential both academically and socially. At Viking schools, we have high standards and expectations and we know how to support children to reach them.
