We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in our Reception classes for 25 hours per week. This is a class based post, working alongisde our team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants to support our youngest children.

The post will require you to support whole class teaching, take small groups and also to support, faciliate and promote play with the children. Working with Reception is a hands on role and so we are looking for someone with initiative and a passion for early years learning.

The Reception team is an incredibly collaborative and supportive environment and training will be given however, previous experience of working within an early years setting or a primary school would be an advantage. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good communication skills with both children and adults
  • Has proven skills for working within a team
  • Can respond quickly to the changing needs of a Reception classroom
  • Has prior knowledge of phonics teaching
  • Understands how important play is for children
