Full Time, 37 hours, 52 weeks

Flexible working and job share considered.  Possibility of non-term time home working.

£35,745 - £45,859

 

Abbey Court caters for pupils aged 3-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties, and is currently located on 2 Strood sites; Nursery & Primary (Cliffe Road) and Secondary & Further Education (Rede Court Road). Facilities include an on-site school farm.

 

We seek an exceptional and enthusiastic colleague to join our Outstanding School in this key strategic role.

 

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and committed to providing leadership across the school’s business and administrative functions.  Excellent interpersonal skills will be essential as the postholder is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. 

 

This important role includes responsibility for high-quality leadership of the following services:

  • School Finances and Income Generation
  • Administration
  • Human Resources
  • Premises and Infrastructure
  • Health & Safety
  • ICT
  • Catering

 

Whilst experience of working in a special school is not essential, the successful candidate must evidence understanding and enthusiasm for the complexities of working in this type of organisation.  Ongoing training and support will be available for the right candidate.  Visits to our school are encouraged and are essential for all shortlisted candidates.

Abbey Court Foundation Special School is maintained by Medway Local Authority for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties(SLD) or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties(PMLD) as their main presenting need. Additional educational needs may include visual/hearing impediment, sensory impairment, autism and or physical disability. We cater for pupils aged 3-19 years. All pupils have Educational Care Plans or Statements of Special Educational Needs.
