We have the opportunity for an enthusiastic, nurturing and creative person to join our team at South Avenue. We are looking for someone who can be reflective, caring, and passionate and aspires to be an outstanding practitioner.

You should be an imaginative and creative role model, with the passion and drive to motivate and inspire children.  Knowledge of KS1 and SATs would be beneficial, as well as being committed to developing your own practice.

In return we can offer a working environment that is committed to developing staff through training and support, staff who will make you feel welcome and children who enjoy their learning and develop in a nurturing, positive environment.

This is a part-time vacancy for 2 days a week (Thursday & Friday) in our Year 2 Class.

Informal visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged and will follow our Covid safety measures, please contact the school office on 01795 477750 to arrange an appointment.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Information about the school

South Avenue is a very popular two form entry primary school in Sittingbourne and is a member of Fulston Manor Academies Trust. Our school vision is We Discover, We Learn, We Grow. We aim to ensure every child is ready for a lifetime of learning and equipped for the real world. We strive to find those barriers to learning and support the children in a nurturing way.

The latest Ofsted (October 2022) agreed that children are happy to attend our school and staff 'have produced an ambitious curriculum and have high expectations for all pupils.'

'The school ethos of together we discover, we learn, we grow is upheld in lessons and activities across the school. Pupils know the school's values and use them to guide their thinking in class and when at play.'

There is a strong community feel about the school and we pride ourselves on looking not only to deliver a rich and balanced curriculum and providing pupils with the tools to learn; but also having a strong focus on the well-being of each child.
