If so, join us at Staplehurst School where relationships with parents and our wider community is at its heart - we are looking to appoint a Family Liaison Officer to work within our inclusive and supportive team.

The Opportunity

This an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated to ensuring the best outcomes for all children, and is committed to safeguarding. The role will involve working alongside our Head of Inclusion to provide holistic support for children and families, as well as promoting engagement with the school community and breaking down any barriers. This will, in turn, raise school attendance, enhance children’s social and emotional development and maximise their opportunities to learn regardless of backgrounds and family circumstances. 

Our ideal candidate will be someone who has:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a team
  • Experiences of using problem solving techniques and approaches when working with families
  • Experience of dealing with difficult/sensitive situations
  • Ability to demonstrate a child centred approach
  • Experience of working with attendance in schools
  • Experience of Safeguarding in schools

 The start date for this position will be Tuesday 22nd February 2022.

You will be required to work Tuesday to Friday, term time only 25 hours per week Kent Range 5 (£20,893) pro rata.

The closing date for applications is Friday 21st January 2022 at 12 noon.

 Interviews will be held Monday 24th January 2022. We will consider each application as it is submitted and we may appoint before the end of the closing date.

Information about the school

Staplehurst School has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Our school is a two form entry community school, with approximately 400 pupils. Situated conveniently, between Maidstone and Cranbrook, in a beautiful rural part of Kent, the school, with its ‘outward-facing, best practice at heart’ culture, has achieved sustained academic improvement and continues to retain an excellent, enthusiastic team of staff.

Blessed within beautiful and spacious grounds, Staplehurst School has the added benefit of two large sports halls, music room, library and a lovely Early Years outside space, as well as a Breakfast Club available from 7.30am and an After School Club until 5.30pm.
