Advert

We are searching for a special teacher to join our KS1 team.

We require an excellent class teacher, who has experience of working within KS1, to join our hard-working and fun-loving team. In the first instance this would be a part-time Maternity Cover position, working four days a week: full-time is possible for the right candidate. Although initially this is a temporary position, as an expanding school a permanent post may be available. This is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their career in our successful and popular school, which is at the heart of an active rural community.

If you have:

  • Strong classroom organisational skills
  • A commitment to high standards of achievement
  • A flair for planning and delivering stimulating learning
  • An understanding of how children learn best
  • An ability to make the curriculum exciting and real
  • A desire to nurture the children in your care
  • Experience of working in Early Years (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to lead Literacy across the school (desirable but not essential; please outline your experience as a subject lead in your application.)

Then we would really like to meet you!

We can offer:

  • Happy children who value learning and achieve high standards
  • A safe, caring learning environment
  • An enthusiastic and supportive staff team
  • On-going CPD programme and highly effective ECT Induction.

Above all, we are seeking an inspirational and innovative teacher, who expects and achieves high standards, for our children. If this describes you then we would love to hear from you.

Personal visits to the school are warmly encouraged. However, in the current climate if you would prefer a virtual tour and conversation with Ali Waller-Davies, the headteacher. that can be arranged. Please contact Mrs Karen Furmidge in the school office (office@harrietsham.kent.sch.uk) to make an appointment.

At this stage it is uncertain as to the exact form the interviews will take; these will be held to conform to the DfE guidance at the time.

Information about the school

Our Vision Statement:

‘Nurtured we Flourish’

We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive school rooted in our rural community. Like the mustard seed, we grew from tiny beginnings and our branches are now spread wide – providing support and taking our values beyond the school gates. All those in our community feel safe and nurtured - able to flourish and grow academically, spiritually, emotionally and physically to achieve their full God-given potential.

Harrietsham Church of England Primary School is a friendly village school set in beautiful countryside in the heart of the community. We are expanding to 2-form entry and are nearly fully grown! We pride ourselves on the achievements of all of our pupils - we are a school where everyone works together putting children at the heart of everything we do. We welcome pupils and staff of all faiths and none and our vision and values of Love, Forgiveness and Fellowship guide our everyday actions.

Our school building (which dates from 2004 to 2021 when our new extension opened) houses classrooms, smaller learning areas, a well-stocked library and computer room, activity rooms and offices and we have extensive grounds including a nature garden and field with large scale play equipment. Outdoor learning is really important to us. We have supportive parents and an active PTFA and Governing Body. We maintain close links with the church and local community.
