The Island Learning Trust currently have a vacancy for a Chief Financial Officer.

Being a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be directly responsible to the Chief Executive Officer of our growing MAT. You will provide support and advice on strategic financial issues with responsibility for financial management and leadership management of the business and admin team.

The successful candidate is expected to bring a modern, business-like approach to the leadership of the business and admin function. You will show a strong aptitude for running it as a highly competent and efficient service with an emphasis on business partnership across the MAT and with devolution of the service where appropriate.

In addition to leading the finance team, the CFO will contribute to strategy and financial policy development to fully support the MAT's aims and objectives. The post holder will ensure the provision of management's information for the MAT's planning and monitoring systems and will ensure the completion of the returns to external agencies.

To be successful in your application for this key strategic position, you will need to hold a relevant degree or have an equivalent level of proven experience. In addition, you will hold a recognised accounting qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, AAT or CPFA or have considerable experience with a Level 5 Level 6 Diploma. You will have a high level of IT competence, outstanding literacy and numeracy skills along with clear analytical skills and the ability to present complex management accounts. The ability to negotiate, persuade and communicate clearly and confidently in a professional manner at all levels is paramount to this role. You will be emotionally intelligent, a team player and have good leadership skills and an ability to inspire and challenge colleagues.

These two founding schools are both Ofsted rated good schools. The outcomes at Minster Primary are outstanding. Sunny Bank Primary School in Sittingbourne joined TILT in February 2020 under a sponsorship arrangement and significant all round improvement has been made with the support of the MAT.
