Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am until 4pm with a half hour lunch break each day (35 hrs)

At Valley Invicta Primary School at East Borough, we are very proud of the inclusive ethos of our school. The staff and children work brilliantly together as a team and we are looking to strengthen our team by appointing a high quality TA who is dedicated to improving children’s life chances.

The role we are looking to appoint to will be part of a unique, highly skilled team who provided support for the autistic children who are part of our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). You will be required to work with children across the school age range to ensure that the child’s needs do not become a barrier to learning and that they can fulfil their potential. This support will be in-class and through targeted interventions, which may also involve small group work with students in the SRP. You will be required to understand a child’s individual needs and work with class teachers so that they can develop learning programmes appropriate to the needs of the child.

The ideal candidate will have a calm and flexible approach and have high expectations for children with SEN. At this point, being able to use your initiative and respond to the children’s changeable needs on a daily basis is more desirable than formal training. Experience working within a school setting is essential to this role but full training will be provided.

If you think you have what it takes to help us give our children the very best education, please contact Mrs Terrie Hennon, Office Manager, to arrange a visit to the school or download and complete the application and send to t.hennon@eastborough.viat.org.uk

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

We reserve the right to appoint to this role ahead of the closing date should an appropriate candidate be found.
