 Class based Teaching Assistant

1 x Permanent Contract

32 hours per week for 39 weeks of the year term time only

Salary: Kent Range 5 (£19,723 - £20,893) Pro-Rata plus SEN Allowance £1323

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, capable and caring Teaching Assistant who will be able to support students with their learning up to GCSE level and help bring positive change to behaviour.

We are looking for confident and well organised person, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to join our friendly school. Experience of working with students who present with challenging behaviour is advantagous but not essential.

Information about the school

All 80 students on roll have an EHC plan with SEMH or ASD as their main SEN need. Most have additional associated diagnosed and undiagnosed needs. All have a broadly average cognitive profile with behaviour presenting as the biggest barrier to accessing education.

It is essential that have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs associated with student who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and or Autism and experience of working successfully with other agencies to help these children achieve positive outcomes. A high proportion of our children are eligible for pupil premium.
