Advert

We are looking for a dedicated, flexible team player to join us at St Nicholas as a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS2 - Year 6 pupil.  The role will be based in the classroom and will involve implementing programmes of support designed especially to meet the pupil’s needs.  The School has excellent working relationships with external agencies who support with Pastoral and Educational Plans.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, with an NVQ Level 3 in Learning Support or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, who has experience and associated training in supporting children who are working significantly behind their peers. You will have experience of working in an upper primary setting and will be able to demonstrate previous success in working with a special needs pupil.  Most importantly you will be able to relate well with young children.  The ideal candidate should also feel comfortable liaising closely with the class teacher, the SENCO, other Teaching Assistants and the child’s family.

Your hours of work will be 20 hours per week, term time only. The post is fixed term, as it is dependent upon the named pupil’s continued attendance at this school and funding.

Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the school if they would like further details regarding the post.
