School Based Intervention Tutor for Maths / Science

Purpose of the role

Hugh Christie School is seeking School Based intervention Tutors to work with students to help them recover lost learning due to Covid-19.

We are seeking tutors who can support small groups of students in Maths / Science

You would:

  • With their class teacher, design or support learning for small groups either during lessons, before school, at lunchtime or after school.
  • Plan for, teach and assess small groups.
  • Monitor and evaluate outcomes for students.
  • Develop and prepare resources for learning activities where appropriate
  • Provide detailed feedback on student progress
  • Support a purposeful learning environment using the school’s policy and procedures for behaviour management

Online training through the National Tutoring Programme will be required for candidates who are not already experienced teachers. Candidates should have some specialist knowledge at least Advanced Level / Level 3 in the subjects they are prepared to tutor. Additional specialist subject support and other training will also be available.

Term time only. 22.5 hours a week over 3 days (between the hours of 8am until 4pm Monday to Thursday and until 2-30pm on Friday)

0.51 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

FTE salary £25,500  / £12,995 pro-rata

From January 2022 or as soon as possible. Fixed contract for 12 months in the first instance.
