Advert

Earlscliffe is a residential boarding college offering GCSE/A-Level and Foundation courses in Folkestone and we are looking for a Second Chef to join our experienced and dedicated team.

We provide meals 3 times a day as well as homemade cakes in the morning breaks, 7 days a week to our students.  We currently have 107 students on roll, and they are from all over the world, over 30 different nationalities, and we cater for all dietary needs.

You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your flair for a wide variety of dishes and flavours by working with our Head Chef, contributing ideas to our varied menus.  We pride ourselves on not just providing school food but going that one step further and providing nutritious and delicious food!  Our meals are all cooked from fresh produce in our well-equipped kitchen.

We are looking for an experienced chef.  Our current Second Chef works Mondays and Tuesdays for 11 hours each day (7am -1pm and 2.15pm -7.15pm) and alternating weekends: Saturdays (7.30am -1pm and 2-7pm) and Sundays (9am -11.30am and 2pm -7pm).   We can be flexible on these days/times so please do not be discouraged from applying if these days and times don't work for you.

Furthermore, this could be an opportunity for us to restructure the working patterns for all Chefs by appointing two additional chefs.

In addition to the daily meals, we also organise and cater for monthly Formal Dinners and other events which require both Head Chef and Second Chef to be in attendance (such as Christmas functions at the school and our celebratory Valedictory Dinner).

The successful candidate must be able to work unsupervised and produce well-presented meals to the highest standard. Required for average of 33 hours per week (plus extra hours for functions as required)

Job Type: Part-time, salaried

Salary: £15912 per annum based on the equivalent of 33 hours per week, equivalent to approximately £12.79 /hour including statutory holiday entitlement.
