FIXED TERM CONTRACT to 31/08/2022

We are looking for a friendly, inspiring and well motivated teacher to  join our brilliant KS2 team.  Applications are welcome from all qualified teachers, ideally with experience of teaching in this area.  Experience of statutory assessments would be desirable but not essential as all applications will be considered.  You will be working in a job-share position in Year 6 on a Thursday and Friday alongside a highly experienced and passionate colleague.  You will also be supported by your year group partner who is also our upper school leader.  We are looking for a start date of Term 3, or Term 4.  The position will initially be on a fixed term contract up to the 31st August 2022, but there is the possibility that this could be made permanent.  There will be further discussion around this during the interview process.

You should be an enthusiastic and excellent practitioner with the knowledge and skills to support and challenge pupils of all abilities, including those with special educational needs, disabilities and the academically more able.  You will also have the passion to want to nurture and inspire our children, providing them with every opportunity to develop their full potential.  You will need to demonstrate consistent, high quality classroom practice and inspirational teaching, underpinned by an excellent understanding of the curriculum.

Our children are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to offer them an environment of opportunity and discovery through a rich and broad curriculum with as wide a range of activities as possible.  We are looking for someone that shares our ethos of growing and learning together.

The closing date is Friday 17th December at 12:00 noon, but we do welcome early applications which will be considered upon receipt and applicants may be invited for interview ahead of the closing date.

In return we can offer you a supportive and caring team of teachers, support staff and governors, led by a strong and visionary team of school leaders.

Visits to our school are positively encouraged.  For an informal chat and more information on visits please telephone Mrs Claire Williams on 01233 621616 or email clairewilliams@godinton.kent.sch.uk

Information about the school

Welcome to Godinton Primary School.

When you step inside our school, you will find an exciting environment of creativity and discovery, where children’s natural curiosity is stimulated and their capacity to learn is nurtured. We are very proud of our ethos, which provides a supportive, family atmosphere with an emphasis on ensuring that our children are happy and confident individuals who love coming to school.

At Godinton Primary School, our team works hard to provide every child with a well-rounded education, enabling them to reach their full potential and succeed wherever their strengths and skills may lie. We strive for academic excellence in our pupils but believe that this should be delivered alongside an enriching and creative curriculum.

We enjoy stand-alone Academy status and have been graded as GOOD by Ofsted at our last inspection (Feb 2024).

Tucked safely away on the Godinton Park Estate, its only when you step within the school gate that you can fully appreciate the school’s privileged outside space.

Our school grounds are both extensive and beautiful, stretching around the entire building and providing a wonderful natural backdrop. Children at Godinton benefit from vast playing fields, adventure play areas, two playgrounds and a thriving wildlife garden and environmental area. A broad area of woodland, also within the grounds, provides an inspiring space for curriculum enrichment, as a stimulus for poetry or creative writing or as the location for scientific nature trails.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, where you can see for yourself what a special place Godinton Primary School is.

Miss Jill Talbot

Headteacher
