Advert

Singlewell Primary school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable full time SENCO to join our warm and friendly school. We require a dedicated, vibrant, teaching professional to work with our Headteacher and Assistant Headteachers to determine the strategic direction of the SEN policy and to share their experience and liaise with staff, parents and other professionals to ensure the school’s responsibilities are effectively implemented for the benefit of our wonderful children.

Although there is not a class responsibility, there is a requirement to model and coach excellent teaching practice to teachers and other staff supporting the SEND provision and to provide support for staff applying positive behaviour strategies with individual children.

The candidate would need to have an excellent understanding of the Mainstream Core Standards and enjoy supporting children who need a tailored approach and creative enhancements to make the curriculum inclusive for all. An understanding of developing Nurture/Nest environments would also be advantageous.

Candidates will be required to have qualified teacher status together with the National award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete this within 3 years of the appointment.) Funding for this training award will be undertaken by the school.

Your application should be made after reading the job description and person specification and you will use the application to tell us how your current skills and experience fit the requirements and why you think you would be suited to this role.

Please note applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and selected candidates will be contacted for an interview so early application is encouraged.  We reserve the right to close the advert when we are in receipt of sufficient applications and without notice.

The Headteacher welcomes informal telephone discussions and visits to view the school prior to applications.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children therefore appointment to this position will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and other safeguarding recruitment procedures.

Please also visit the school website www.singlewell.kent.sch.uk for further information on the school and to view our Virtual Tour.
