We are looking to appoint a highly efficient School Office Manager, to work in our lovely small rural primary school. We are a warm and friendly primary school, with strong links to our local Church.

The post will be 37 hours per week – term time + 2 weeks (40 weeks per year) and the applicant will need to be able to start work at 8am.

Pay range is Kent range 7, currently £23033 - £26075 (pro rata).

The successful applicant should be experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking. They will be the face of Brabourne CEP School and should ensure a welcoming, professional reception to all children, parents, carers, staff and visitors. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.

Candidates will need to be positive, highly confidential with all matters, have a professional attitude, be well organised, highly flexible and have excellent inter-personal skills. They will be the first point of call for all visitors to the school office as well as for any incoming calls. They will also be responsible for supporting the administration associated with finance, school admissions, attendance and data management.

We wish to appoint someone who has:

  • Experience of working within a school office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A friendly, flexible and professional approach, particularly when multi-tasking under pressure.
  • A working knowledge of SIMS and FMS is essential.
  • The ability to prioritise workload to ensure office systems operate efficiently for the smooth running of the school.
  • You will have a positive approach to working with children and a commitment to our safeguarding procedures. 
  • Considerable experience of managing school finances.
  • An ability to be strategic and creative
  • Excellent financial management and ICT skills

 

The core purpose of the role will be to:

  • Lead and manage the school finances, including day-to-day financial tasks, purchasing, budget setting and budget monitoring
  • Oversee maintenance and improvement programmes working with the Finance Committee of the Governing Body
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Maintain accurate pupil records
  • Complete and submit statutory financial returns
  • Advise the Senior Leadership Team and Governors on all financial and premises matters
