Advert

A vacancy has arisen for a midday meal supervisor(MDMS).  The successful candidate will work as part of a team to ensure the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during the midday break, in accordance with the whole school positive behaviour policy.

'I like playtimes because I get to play with my friends' Year 1 pupil

This is a very important role in the school.  Lunches can be the busiest part of the school day and it will be the MDMS role in creating a happy and productive lunch time.  The successful applicant will promote the lunch break as an opportunity to extend the curriculum and make it a positve play and learning experience.

'Play times are better here than my last school as we get lots of equipment to play with.' Year 4 pupil

This is initially a fixed term position until July 2022, however this will be reviewed in May/June 2022 depending on staffing changes.

'I love playing football with my friends.  Because we have such big fields, you have loads of things to do.' Year 6 pupil.

We need people who want to make lunchtimes enjoyable and fun for the children.  This is often a perfect way in for anyone looking for a career in Primary Education.  We have TA and Teachers who once started as a MDMS.

Making contact directly with the school and visits are essential so that you know this is the right school for you.  If you are keen to be part of the Oaklands TEAM, then get in touch.

Information about the school

Oaklands School is a Good school with results which are above national averages in all areas. We are a two form entry primary school situated in Walderslade. We also have a Children and Family Hub and Wellbeing Centre on site and so support our community from antenatal all the way to Year 6.

The school is set in extensive grounds and is well resourced, including our own swimming pool offering swimming from Year R through to Year 6, a Forest School, training kitchen, Art & Design Room, Radio Station, Theatre Space and other superb opportunities for outside learning.

We offer wrap around care including breakfast and after school facilities to support working families. At Oaklands there is a very strong sense of being a team with dedicated staff whose aim is to offer our children a first class education.

At Oaklands we are committed to safeguarding and so there will be a range of checks which we will carry out with you including taking two professional references before interview; requesting a self-disclosure criminal record history and then several pre employment checks for the successful candidate.

We are part of the Westbrook Trust and enjoy the support and freedoms of being in a family of supportive schools who all share common values and ethos.
