We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual to join us at Goat Lees as soon as possible.  You would be working as part of a team to ensure that all children achieve their potential in a happy and safe environment.

We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in the Reception Class. We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to become part of our early years Team, who will help support children with additional needs. Experience is preferable and we would like to appoint someone with knowledge of the Early Years curriculum. 

The position may include working on a 1:1 basis or supporting small groups, however you would also be required to work under the Class Teacher's direction to support all children within the whole class setting. The position is initially temporary until 31st August 2022; with a possibility of a contract extension, dependent upon further funding. Hours will be 32.5 per week, term time only from 8:30am to 3:30pm daily, although some flexibility may be possible for the right candidate. Additional hours may be available to support our delivery of a range of extra-curricular clubs both before and after school.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • can be flexible and use own initiative
  • willing to support children in a variety of situations dependent on the needs of the child/ren
  • is enthusiastic and committed to working with children
  • is competent in basic English and Maths skills 
  • holds NVQ/CACHE Level 2 or above/equivalent qualifications/relevant experience

A further advantage would be

  • experience of specific programmes or interventions including Speech, Language and Communication/behaviour support
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification

Goat Lees Primary School is a one form entry Primary School which opened in September 2013. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a special learning environment that aims to be at the ‘Heart of the Community’. As a member of the CARE Foundation Trust, we work closely with nine other primary schools across the Ashford District to provide support and opportunities for collaboration across our schools.

Our innovative building has been designed by a collaboration of experienced local headteachers and a nationally nominated architectural company which has created a beautiful space in which to stimulate learning. We have further enhanced our facilities by building a performing arts room with a large outdoor stage as part of our commitment to providing a broad and balanced curriculum.
