To inspire and motivate students to have a love of learning of Drama by:

  • Setting high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment and achievement
  • Promoting good progress and outcomes by students
  • Demonstrating good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Planning and teaching well-structured lessons, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students
  • Making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Managing behaviour effectively to ensure a productive and safe learning environment
  • To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for the personal and academic development of children and young people.
  • To liaise with SENCO to differentiate work to match the needs of individual students
  • To take part in marketing and liaison events such as Open Evening, Parents Evening and other events
  • Responsible for co-ordinating a variety of performances throughout the academic year
  • Overseeing the Acting Academy which includes an annual performance in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
  • Work closely with the Music and Dance Department
