Assistant Cook

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time only + 1 week)

Whitehill Primary School is looking to appoint an Assistant Cook with a proven track record in a busy kitchen to support the school Cook and kitchen team in providing nutritious meals from our innovative menu. Our kitchen provides a cooked lunch to 350 pupils every day, and is maintained to an exceptionally high standard of efficiency and hygiene.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy kitchen, hold relevant food qualifications and demonstrate high levels of organisation and teamwork needed to deliver 350 meals in a 2 hour window every day.

The role will also involve competent use of our IT ordering system, accurate stock ordering and control as well as excellent communication skills to effectively  liaise with colleagues, class teachers and midday supervisors.

You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, good ICT skills and planning and delivery skills. 

This appointment will start as soon as possible.  Salary range is TDET Band 4, points 11-14 with a starting salary of point 11.  Actual salary (inc pro rata holiday entitlement) £13,920 - £14,826 per annum (pro rata  to £18,425 - £19,625 per annum for a full-time, all year round post).
