Required as soon as possible, the Trust wishes to appoint a Senior Laboratory Technician.

The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week, term time only (190 days – see note below*), and will have experience of working in a laboratory environment, preferably in a school.  The successful candidate will be required to prepare science experiments at all key stages up to and including A Level investigations.  They will also be required to line manage their team of three Science Technicians.  Salary will be according to experience but will be paid on VIAT Grade 5 Point 21 – 24 with a full time equivalent of £21,745-£23,714, and an actual salary of £18,065.03-£19,700.81.

The role is for committed and motivated professionals who would like to work in a school that provides a wealth of opportunities for both its students and staff, along with wanting to be part of a family friendly, team-based workforce. The main VIAT site encompasses three secondary schools and our new School of Science and Technology (SST) will have Year 7 and Year 8 students in 2021-22. Collaboration with like-minded colleagues across the Multi-Academy Trust (VIAT) is set up to provide networking, support, quality assurance and friendship. If you think you would thrive in this environment, we want to meet you.

*A normal academic year would consist of 190 days however, where there are less than 190 teaching days in an academic year, the successful candidate will make this time up outside of term time on staff only days, open events etc.
