We wish to appoint a superb Teaching Assistant. We are looking for someone who is friendly and approachable, able to work on their own initiative and to manage their time effectively and who is driven to provide opportunities and enjoyment for children allowing us all to achieve together.

The successful candidate will be supporting children in class as well as working with small groups and individuals to provide additional support under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Share the trust values and be prepared to put the children at the heart of everything
  • Understand the importance of a wide and varied curriculum and share the belief that learning changes lives
  • Be keen to continue to learn and develop their skills
  • Have a good standard of education, with a minimum requirement of English and Mathematics at GCSE (C) or equivalent. 
  • Have energy and the determination to make a difference
  • Be a team player, willing to share ideas and with a good sense of humour
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in, and sensitivity to, children's individual needs.  You will be expected to have a positive impact on the children you work with and the school as a whole.

Information about the trust

The Whinless Down Academy Trust aims to provide excellent opportunities for local children, in local schools, run by local people. It is a primary school only Trust, based in Dover, Kent, comprising of Vale View, Priory Fields and St Martin's. Collaborative working is integral to our trust approach, and we continue to support and learn from each other.
