If you have experience of working in a pastoral setting and the ability to positively encourage and influence the learning of our students, we would love to hear from you.

As an Exclusion Room Officer you will be responsible for running the exclusion room and supervising all students who are placed in the room.

You will:

  • Work with individual students and their families implementing strategies to improve behaviour and punctuality, ensuring records are kept and feedback is provided to appropriate individuals.
  • Ensure all school procedures relating to behaviour are adhered to
  • Undertake supervisions duties immediately before school and after school to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and ensure the appropriate standards of behaviour are maintained.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience of working in a similar role or setting, with the appropriate knowledge and skills equivalent to national qualifications at level 3 or the equivalent.
  • Good interpersonal skills, excellent communication, listening and observation skills and the ability to build rapport, support, engage and motivate others
  • The ability to ability to deal with difficult, sensitive or conflict situations with an empathetic approach.
  • Knowledge of school policies relating to conduct, behaviour, attendance and dress code with a demonstratable understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and child protection issues within a school setting.
