We are looking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, efficient and well organised person to join our busy school office.  In this role you will provide financial and administrative support to ensure the efficient and effective use of the school’s budget.  This position offers an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to work for a friendly and supportive school where all members of the school community work as a team.

The post will be part-time, 21 hours per week, term time plus Inset days.  The days and hours of work negotiable (minimum 4days).

The applicant should be confident in communicating with both adults and children.  They must have good computer and administrative skills and be able to prioritise their tasks appropriately.  Previous experience of working in an administrative or financial role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate.  Working in the school office, it is essential that applicants have the ability and willingness to be flexible and use their initiative.

Key elements of the role:

  • Undertake a diverse range of financial procedures, from placing orders, accounts payable, dealing with suppliers, reconciliations, VAT, accounts receivable and the purchase ledger control account.
  • Monitor monthly resources budgets to ensure a cost-effective approach, advising the Head Teacher of any potential variances.
  • Process the monthly overtime, travel claims and absence forms
  • Provide administrative support duties, such as reception or telephone duties and provide cover for reception in the absence of the Senior Admin Assistant, including daily lunch cover.

 Who are we looking for:

  • We are seeking an individual who has previous knowledge and experience of a wide range of financial procedures, including order and invoice processing, bank reconciliations, financial reports and account monitoring.
  • Someone who is computer literate and has the ability to produce a range of accurate documents and standardised reports using Microsoft packages. Experience of working with Capita’s FMS would be an advantage.
  • A person who can demonstrate a high level of organisation skills and be able to prioritise their work accordingly.

 What we can offer you:

  • FTE for KR4 is £18,517 - £19,625, so the pro-rated range is £9,040 - £9,581.
  • A negotiable working pattern for 21 hours a week (minimum 4 days), Term Time Only plus Inset days.
