Goldwyn Sixth Form is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed HLTA who is passionate about working with young people with Special Educational Needs, and who can help us make a positive impact on a student’s life by helping them to achieve their full potential.
Under the direction of the Teaching & Learning Lead, the purpose of this role is to deliver ASDAN, Maths, English PSD, Life Skills and Employability Skills to students who can display social, emotional and mental health difficulties and whose learning disabilities may be affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder or students who would otherwise struggle to access all GCSE subjects.
ASDAN is taught to help students to develop and make full use of their abilities in their personal, social and work-related areas by strengthening their academic and vocational education by engaging and motivating them to enable each student to reach their full education potential, providing skills to assist independence when leaving education. The ASDAN course is all coursework with no exams.
We provide a variety of programmes to young people moving into a Post-16 learning environment. All courses are designed to provide learning opportunities that inspire and engage students, helping them to develop the knowledge and skills to prepare them for future employment, apprenticeships or further education.
All our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan in place and a range of needs including Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

This post is for 32.5 hours per week 39 weeks per year (term time only plus staff development days)
And offered on a salary of Kent Range 5; £19,723 - £20,983 + SENA of £1323 per annum Actual starting salary (including SENA) is £16,225.
