Chilton Primary School is looking for an outstanding Admin Apprentice to join our wonderful office team.

The duties will include:

  • To provide an efficient and professional reception service alongside our resident receptionist - greeting visitors, staff and pupils ensuring they sign in/out in accordance with school procedures
  • Answer enquiries received in person/by phone or via e-mails – responding to queries/relaying messages and acting on instructions as needed and referring on where appropriate
  • Carry out general office duties as directed by the Central Administration Manager and Head of School.
  • Prepare and distribute routine home/school correspondence; maintain copies of all correspondence to parents
  • Receive/open and distribute all incoming mail & deliveries; track circulation of correspondence in school as required
  • Maintain school diary and arrange meetings/room bookings/visits
  • Undertake a range of admin tasks to support the efficient operation of the school
  • Administer first aid (training will be provided)
  • Comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and GDPR, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

Weekly wage

£129.00

£4.30 per hour

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training including off the job training hours

  • Requirements:

Apprentices will require a GCSE 'C' grade or equivalent in English and Maths to fulfill the apprenticeship criteria.

We are looking for a person who enjoys being part of a team.

You will be able to multi task and pitch in where needed to get the work done

Strong work ethic with good organisation skills and a positive attitude are essential for this role

You will get the opportunity to learn in a real-life workplace environment about what it means to be a successful Admin Assistant in a school setting.  You will work in a busy but well organised office surrounded by a caring and experienced team who will help guide you through your apprenticeship journey.  You will receive support from the Central Administration Manager in assisting your workplace learning with regular support meetings to ensure that you able to flourish within your role during the apprenticeship.  You will also receive paid off the job hours to complete your 20% off the job training each week.
