We are looking for someone with kindness, compassion and strong teamwork skills to join our amazing staff at Smeeth. An opportunity has come up for a qualified Teaching Assistant to work from 8.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, working with our SEN children. Whilst this will be in our Early Years setting initially, all support staff may be required to work across all key stages, depending on the needs of the children and how these may change. This post also includes the role of Midday Supervisor to cover the lunchtime period from Monday to Friday.
Our successful candidate would be required to support children during learning activities and contribute to the management of interventions. The role will also include working with groups of children at times, under the direction and guidance of the class teacher. Experience of working with young SEN children is advantageous, along with First Aid training.
We are a warm, friendly and caring school; committed to and passionate in changing life opportunities for our children. The wellbeing of both children and staff is incredibly important to us; we strongly believe that everyone's happiness is key to successful learning. We are a small school and excellent teamwork is essential. Our children are well-behaved, polite and excited to learn. We have high expectations for behaviour and our staff and children are respectful towards one another.
If you would like to apply; please do come and see us! School visits are strongly recommended and welcomed prior to application. Please contact Ms Payne, Head Teacher, to make an appointment. We are very proud of our school and would love to show you around!
At Smeeth Community Primary School, we aim to provide an educational environment where children can be safe, happy and excited to learn. We offer a creative curriculum which will inspire our children to grow into independent, responsible and confident young people.
Smeeth Community Primary School serves the beautiful rural village of Smeeth and the neighboring area of Brabourne Lees, close to the North Downs. The school is set in gorgeous surroundings; there are beautiful playing fields, split into two levels by a bank just made for tobogganing when the snow is deep enough, and a playground bordered by a large patio area and our lovely playground extension with trim trail, clamber stack and fire pit for outdoor learning. From the top of the playing field are views to the North Downs and from the upper school campus are views across Hatch Park. We have a beautiful library, Early Years area and a wonderful kitchen on site. The old schoolhouse is now part of the school’s working area and contains the offices, reception, and an upstairs storage area and teacher PPA room. There are five lovely classrooms, two in the extended Victorian building and three more in the building that includes the hall. The children's learning environment is extremely important to us; we have redecorated throughout and now boast beautiful wood-effect floors, new washrooms for the children and a fabulous staffroom, because we also need somewhere lovely to be!
