Cornwallis Academy requires a Catering Assistant on a term time basis for 18 hours per week between 08:30am to 15:00pm, Three days per week, one of those days will be a Friday. This role will be on a fixed term basis for one academic year. 

 

You will be responsible to the Head Chef at Cornwallis Academy and when required you will be assisting in the hygienic preparation, delivery and/or serving of meals, working within the schools coffee shop on rotations and ensuring the kitchen, dining area and equipment are cleaned to a high standard. You will also be required to provide an excellent hospitality service for guests and staff within the Academies for conferences and meetings.

 

Applicants must be able to follow directions and carry out tasks as part of a team, as well as using own initiative. Applicants must also be able to communicate with others in an acceptable and appropriate manner. A basic understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to the job is essential.

 

Knowledge of basic food hygiene and a background in catering and hospitality would be an Aadvantage, however training will be given.
