AFTERSCHOOL CLUB ASSISTANTS Starting September 2021

We are looking to appoint some Afterschool Club Assistants for our Lighthouse Keeper’s Club from September 2021 to join our fabulous team.  If you are somebody with boundless enthusiasm and positivity who can contribute to making sure the time that our children spend at Lighthouse Keeper’s Club is thoroughly enjoyable and happy, then this could be just the job for you.   If you have a creative flair and don’t mind being outside, whatever the weather, that would be a bonus too!  You will also need to have knowledge and experience of preparing light meals and snacks in a commercial kitchen.

The positions are for 15 hours a week during term time only.  The hours are every afternoon between 3.00pm and 6.00pm and the flexibility to work some mornings and cover absence may also be required.  The tasks of this role will be varied and could change day to day.

Ideally, in applying for this post you will have:

  • A thorough understanding of all safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience of working with children and able to prepare, lead and supervise activities
  • Good literacy and mathematical skills
  • High standards of work ethic and self-motivation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High standards of personal presentation, punctuality, attendance and professional standards and team work
  • The ability to follow instructions and use initiative to ‘think on your feet’
  • Experience of food preparation in a school setting with the minimum of a Level 1 Food Hygiene Certificate

Information about the school

We are a Church of England Aided Junior school, situated in the heart of Whitstable. From September 2021 our school embarked on an expansion to admit 60 children into Year 3, growing to a two form entry school from September 2022 with a total of eight classes. Locally we are known as 'The Endowed' and we describe ourselves as an old school with a young heart.
