We are looking to recruit a dedicated and highly organised Office Manager to join our friendly team at Penshurst CE Primary School.  This isa key role and we are looking for a highly motivated person to become a member of our school community.

The Office Manager will oversee all aspects of school administration and will work together with our  Receptionist / Office Assistant to run our school office. This will be an interesting and diverse role within a busy school environment - every day is different! The position will cover administration and finance. See job descriptions.

The successful candidate will have significant experience within a school office environment and will already be familiar with many aspects of the role. We are looking for someone who is cool, calm and efficient, and who understands the importance of professionalism and confidentiality. Self-motivation and flexibility are essential qualities, as is a high standard of written English and a good grasp of IT. 

We are also looking for someone who has experience of school finance and can combine the role of bursar within their work.  This will involve: responsibility  for all financial procedures within the school, from weekly processing of orders and invoices, to monthly payroll reconciliation and budget monitoring, to annual closedown and budget setting. He or she would work closely with the Headteacher and Finance Governor on strategic financial management to ensure that the school plans effectively for the future.The successful candidate will have financial experience within a school environment and will be familiar with KCC procedures and compliance requirements. The position may suit someone who is already undertaking a similar role within another school and would like to take on additional work, or a finance manager who is looking for their next move.

The post is full time  (term time only plus INSETs) from 8.30am until 5pm.

Information about the school

We are a small village church school, at the heart of our community, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have 80 pupils taught in four classes: Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

The school plays a very active role in the local and wider community and provides many opportunities for children to develop their talents and interests, whether this be in the sporting competitions we take part in or in our wide range of extra-curricular clubs.

Our staff team is small, friendly and mutually supportive, which we believe is a real strength of our school. Our Christian values are important to us and are at the heart of all we strive to achieve.
