St. Mary's is a great school and poised on top of the East Cliff; a stone's throw from the beach! We expect you to go to! Our grounds are equally stunning with 3 Forest School areas, 2 large playgrounds, a pond and huge field. In the summer, it is the most wonderful place to work and explore with the pupils. We are a large, oversubscribed school with an exciting vision, an amazing staff team and strong Christian foundation.  Friendly, dynamic and fun describes us well. Our curriculum is driven from a passion to engage and immerse pupils in their learning and their world. We frequently engage with outside community groups and ensure rich authentic experiences for the children and staff.

We are looking for colleagues who can match the energy of the current staff team and continue with us on our journey in shaping the most vibrant and engaging school possible.

  • be able to turn a square room into a world of wonder and be passionate about celebrating pupils' learning.
  • be passionate about literacy and bring ideas to further develop our journey so far.
  • know the key learning theories and be able to apply this daily
  • have a strong sense of achievement and be able to inspire the children and staff around you.
  • have a good understanding of the impact of deprivation on school communities.
  • you will have a passion for teaching that supersedes any bad day, be self driven, aspire for excellence, be resilient and able to self reflect to improve practice.

As a forward thinking and inclusive school, we are driven to offer:

  • strong support and CPD so that you develop as a highly effective practitioner.
  • regular non contact time, which is typically more than 10%.
  • actively work to reduce workload for teachers.
  • additional adult support in every classroom.
