Job Description -Woodwind and/or Voice 

Instrumental and vocal music teachers required to provide music lessons for our school. Please only apply using the application form on Kent-Teach. We cannot accept applications on other formats.

Music plays an important role in the lives of children at River Primary School. A large number of children currently learn an instrument and in non-Covid times we have a number school ensembles ranging from Rock School to String groups. Our children are active in school recitals and concerts as well as performing and in the local and regional community.

We are seeking additional peripatetic teachers to join our team to accommodate demand for tuition woodwind and voice (trumpet would be an additional bonus but is not one of the main roles) and we have pupils waiting to commence or continue their learning.

Requirements: • Music degree or professional music diploma • experience in teaching instruments to children • recent success of your pupils in graded music exams • good communication skills with pupils, parents and colleagues • enthusiasm about the positive impact of music • good organisation and the ability to manage timetables and administration associated with instrumental teaching • commitment to weekly ensembles/music groups, and annual school events

Exact working hours are according to demand. Currently, pay is at the rate of £28p/h.
