  • creating 'hands-on' learning activities
  • working with pupils with complex needs / behaviours

You should also be :

  • resilient and patient - Rome wasn't built in a day!
  • able to think on your feet and make quick changes
  • able to communicate well with both the pupil and parents

At Penshurst CE Primary we have a strong moral compass that drives all we do. Our school vision is based around 'walking in the shoes of others' - showing empathy and thinking of what life is like for our pupils and parents is a key to the vision.  All staff are expected to be role models for the school's vision and values.

We are looking for someone who wants to help us to continue to provide an inclusive learning environment for all our pupils. If this is you then we look forward to hearing from you. Our SENDCo would be very happy to discuss the position with you; please call the school office and they will be happyto arrange this.

This post could suit  either an experienced SEN HLTA or a teacher with SEND experience.  The job description is to give a flavour of the requirements  and would be adapted according to meet the qualifications of a successful candidate. The post is initially temporary for two terms.

Information about the school

We are a small village church school, at the heart of our community, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have around 80 pupils taught in four classes: Foundation, Year 1 & 2 ; Year 3 & 4, Year 5 & 6.

The school plays a very active role in the local and wider community and provides many opportunities for children to develop their talents and interests, whether this be in the many sporting competitions we take part in or in our wide range of extra-curricular clubs.

Our staff team is small, friendly and mutually supportive, which we believe is a real strength of our school. Our Christian values are important to us and are at the heart of all we strive to achieve. We encourage all members of the school community to 'walk in the shoes of others' - demonstrating our understanding the needs of others and promoting kindness at every opportunity.
