We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, dedicated and supportive team in our EYFS Nursery Class from January 2021.

Candidates should have experience of working in this key stage and have an understanding of the EYFS Framework and Development Matters. It is also essential that candidates have the appropriate early years qualifications.

Kings Hill School has one Nursery class which opened in September 2020 and two established Reception classes. The Nursery class is already oversubscribed. Although the post will be primarily based in the Nursery, there will be an expectation to work across all of the Foundation Stage as a team.

The successful applicant will be required to work 32.5 hours per week (8.15am – 3.45 p.m. Monday to Friday, term time only 38 weeks a year). This post is at Kent Range 3 which is £18,039 (FTE)

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have previous experience in an Early Years setting with the EYFS framework.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years and Childcare Development as defined by the DFE approved qualifications guidelines.
  • Be imaginative, creative, very energetic and interested in children’s development.
  • Development.
  • To help children to access the full EYFS curriculum, promoting independent learning both inside and outside in a free-flow environment.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of good early years practice and the EYFS Curriculum.
  • Be a good team player, flexible, prepared to use their initiative and embrace change.
  • Be able to run small intervention groups to support children with additional needs (i.e. Speech & Language, PSHE).
  • Be confident in using technology to enhance learning and to record children’s achievements.
  • Has an ability to work closely with parents to establish good relationships.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Support the ethos and wider life of the school.
