Advert

We are seeking an ambitious, forward thinking teacher to join our team at Cage Green Primary School in the Phoenix Centre for Autism.  The Phoenix Centre is a specialist resourced provision for children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum disorder whose primary need is communication and interaction.   There are 31 primary aged children in the Centre, grouped across 3 classes with a teacher and team of TAs attached to each class.  The centre is a part of Cage Green Primary School, but is led by a centre manager who oversees day to day operations.  The team within the centre is highly skilled and very supportive.

We are looking for a teacher to join this team.  The role will involve teaching children at the lower end of the primary age range initially.  Experience in a resourced provision is not essential because we can provide training.  You will need enthusiasm for working with children with ASD and an understanding of the challenges this can bring.  We are very interested in hearing from NQTs.

In return, we can offer you:

  • A structured programme of training to further your career. Our NQT support is provided within our trust and is tailored to meet the needs of the individual.  No more generic courses that don’t apply to you! For more experienced teachers, we offer programmes of development at every stage of a teacher’s career.
  • A ‘Wellbeing Day’ each year which is a day you can take off when you choose, to support your wellbeing.
  • A contribution towards gym membership
  • A contribution towards our staff Christmas celebration.
  • Friday breakfast.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Have QTS
  • Be a positive, solutions focused person who enjoys being part of a team
  • Want to make a big change to children’s lives.

If you want to know more about the centre, we would be very pleased to meet you and take you on a rigorously socially distanced tour during week commencing 2 November 2020.  Please contact Jo Dove, Phoenix Centre Manager via headteacher@cage-green.kent.sch.uk
