The School  BCAT Trust consists of 3 schools: Barton Court Grammar School, an 11-18 years co-educational grammar school in the heart of Canterbury; The Charles Dickens School, an 11-16 years co-educational non-selective school in Broadstairs and opening in 2022 a Free School, Barton Manor School, an 11-18 years co-educational non-selective school co-sited with Barton Court Grammar School.

The Post   Governors wish to appoint an experienced, professional Receptionist/Administrator to be the face of The Charles Dickens School to all visitors.

Candidates should be able to carry out Reception duties which will include meeting/greeting visitors, handling all incoming telephone calls and various administrative duties assisting the Headteacher's PA and office staff.  Excellent ICT skills are required with good numeracy and literacy (GCSE Maths/English or equivalent required).

A high level of professionalism is key, delivering exceptional customer service at all times with a friendly confident manner.  A good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience in the use of SIMS is preferred. 

Hours of work are 08.00-16.00 Monday-Thursday and 08.00-15.30 Friday with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break.

This is a term time only role plus two Staff Development Days (one at the start of the academic year and the other before October half term) + 2 days in August each year on the day of the GCSE results and the following day.  This amounts to 0.8557 FTE.
