BUSINESS MANAGER

This job role will be 37 hours per week (8.45am – 4.45pm Mon to Thurs and 8:45am – 4:15pm on Friday) term time only and in addition, 5 x INSET days plus 3 x extra days and other hours as applicable and agreed between the Business Manager and the Headteacher.

We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to work in collaboration with the Headteacher, SLT, Office Manager, staff, pupils and Governors; contributing to strategic decision making, effective use of school finance, leading on all aspects of personnel and playing a key part in the continued successful development of our school.                     

This role is an exciting new senior position within our school structure and will be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.      

To apply for this job role, you will need to hold a Business Manager qualification, already be working in a similar position in a school, have proven knowledge and experience across all aspects of the job specification.

You will need to be a highly effective, motivated and an energetic practitioner with proven leadership ability. You will also be supportive of colleagues and a positive team player and must demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Assist the Headteacher in effectively managing the school budget and resources, regularly reporting to the Governing Body
  • Property management, financial administration and Health & Safety management including negotiating contracts
  • Taking the lead on specific projects
  • Manage all aspects of personnel including maintaining the Single Central Record
  • Manage all school admission procedures and Census data
  • Handling, counting and banking school money
  • Working alongside Leaders and key staff across the school to assist them with all aspects of finance included within their roles
  • Lead, manage and oversee all aspects of school wrap around care
  • Be a Performance Leader
  • Be qualified in first aid and work in liaison with the Lead First Aider
  • Develop links between different stake holders across the school and beyond
  • Work successfully alongside other office staff in all aspects of general office responsibility 
  • Be an effective Leader, a positive professional role model, smartly presented and display tact and diplomacy at all times
