Temporary Contract from September 2020

We are looking for a friendly, inspiring and well motivated teacher to join our brilliant KS1 team with effect from September 2020.  Applications are welcome from all qualified teachers, ideally with at least 1 year of experience.

We are looking for someone that shares our ethos of growing and learning together, with the passion, creativity and energy to deliver a stimulating curriculum for our children that is both engaging, challenging and fun.

The role is in line with the school teachers pay and conditions. You would work with our fantastic team supporting development for all children as well as colleagues across the school.

We would usually welcome all potential applicants to come and have a look around our school prior to application to see for themselves the environment, children and team that we are so proud of. However due to the current Coronavirus situation this is not possible and interviews will take place via zoom. After the interview the successful candidate will have the opportunity to look around the school (which may have to be a weekend to reduce contact with staff and children).

The application form can be downloaded from www.kent.teach.com.

Information about the school

Information about the school ‘Bringing Faith & Education Together’ – St George’s Church of England Primary School is a vibrant and welcoming school, situated on the outskirts of Sevenoaks. We are a mixed one form entry, 4-11 primary school operating at the heart of it’s village community.

We are situated only 5 minutes from the M26 and M20; these excellent transport links enable staff to travel from East Kent, Surrey and South London.

The school is noted for its friendly, caring atmosphere, enthusiastic children, experienced and dedicated staff and supportive parents and governors. It is well regarded by parents and enjoyed by children, who describe it as polite and caring and, with 210 children on roll, the school is currently over-subscribed in some age groups.

The school does outstandingly well in providing support and encouragement for the most vulnerable children. Children feel safe and well cared for and are positive and happy to be here. We are lucky to have extensive grounds allowing opportunities for creative and engaging lessons to be planned.

In March 2008 Ofsted described the school as being “an Outstanding School ........ where smiling is important” and “a school where children achieve exceptionally well to reach above average standards by the time they leave in Year 6.” In March 2011 Ofsted carried out an interim assessment with this judgement again being given to the school. In February 2018 the school received its fourth Outstanding SIAS/SIAMS Inspection grading.

St George's (VC) CE Primary school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
