Senior Systems Technician

Required from April/May 2020

Full-Time All Year Round Contract, 37 hours per week 

Kent Scheme Salaries 8: £25,238-£28,781 per annum 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the Systems Team at MGGS. The successful applicant will provide an advanced, efficient and effective technical support service to all users of the school systems and support the maintenance and ongoing development of the network infrastructure, IT resources, and other relevant systems along with co-ordinating technical support for the Computer Hub training.

Applicants should possess advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft and Google technologies including current server and desktop operating system and server roles, along with computer/network infrastructure equipment and cloud based systems.  Knowledge and experience of server virtualisation technologies would also be an advantage.  

The successful applicant will contribute to the day to day support and development of the school’s systems and provide a high level of support for teaching and learning.  This role will also involve working on projects to further develop our systems including equipment rollouts and upgrades. Applicants should also be confident in the use of audio/visual systems.

The ability to work and communicate with a range of people at all levels, including young people, will be essential.  Applicants should have an IT related degree or equivalent experience, or another relevant IT qualification.

Maidstone Grammar School for Girls is a very successful selective girls’ school of 1250 students with a mixed sixth form of approximately 320.  Since July 2019 we have been appointed by the Department for Education as a Computer Hub in recognition of the expertise the school has evidenced in Computing Education and will take a lead in training teachers across the south east in the delivery of Computing.
