Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant

Are you a positive team player with lots of energy? Are you passionate about working with children and want to be part of team which ensures all pupils make the best possible progress in a happy and safe environment?

We are seeking to appoint a committed, flexible and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who will have a positive impact on children’s learning. The successful candidate will be supporting children in class, and also working with small to large  groups and individuals to provide additional support in flexible intervention programmes, under the direction of the class teacher. This will be principally in Upper Key Stage 2, but you must be prepared to work across the school. 

We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in, and sensitivity to, children’s individual needs. You will be expected to have a positive impact on the children you work with and the school as a whole. You must have a high standard of spoken and written English and Mathematics (minimum GCSE or equivalent) and be able to communicate effectively with both children and adults. We are looking for someone who is friendly and approachable, able to work on their own initiative and to manage their time effectively as well as supporting others within a team.

The post is permanent for 28.75 hours per week (8.45 to 3.30pm daily) at Kent Range 5 (KR5). This works out at 44.1428 weeks per year including inset days.

Higham Primary School is a one form entry school with 209 pupils currently on roll. We are located in Higham village, between Gravesend and Rochester.
