Teacher of PE

Due to the continuing development and expansion of this ‘outstanding’ School (OFSTED July 2015),  Gravesend Grammar School (GGS) are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified PE teacher from September 2020, who will enjoy working in a school that values and delivers excellent Physical Education.

The successful candidate will be a high level sports person, capable of inspiring students through their passion for the subject, and have a firm belief in the potential of all students.

PE is taught from KS3 to KS5 and is a very successful option at GCSE and A-level producing consistently excellent results.

There is an outstanding extra-curricular PE programme in place where teams regularly compete locally, regionally and nationally. The successful candidate must have expertise and be willing to fully commit to after school training and Saturday fixtures in both Rugby and Cricket.

A large range of other activities are run through the year and expertise in one of the following areas would be of benefit to the school - Athletics, Badminton, Basketball or Hockey.

Applications are welcome from experienced colleagues who are looking for a change or newly qualified teachers who are starting on their career path. We offer excellent NQT support including a bespoke programme of training and mentors.

 We offer:

  • Enthusiastic and highly able students who “attain very high standards and make excellent progress” (OFSTED)
  • A well-resourced PE department fully staffed by qualified discipline specialists
  • Supportive and enthusiastic colleagues, and a positive working environment
