Advert

A vacancy has arisen in one of our EYFS classes for a full time teaching assistant. Hours of work are 8.45 - 3.15 (with an hour for lunch), term time only so 38 weeks of the year.

You will be working as part of a team with your class teacher as well as the class teacher and teaching assistant in the other class. The way in which EYFS works means that there is alot of interaction between the staff and children in both classes creating a close knit team.

Ideally you will have had previous experience of working either in EYFS or in a nursery setting. This is not essential as training will be given, but we would expect the right candidate to have familiarised themselves with the EYFS curriculum, and have experience or read up on how early maths and literacy is taught as well as a sound knowledge of phonics.

The approach to learning in EYFS is play based and we would expect candidates to have a knowledge of how children learn through play. EYFS children can also require a fair amount of pastoral support.

So if you have the above skills, or are able to show at interview that you have researched and familiarised yourself with them then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Other skills that we would like to see are:-

  • Good Numeracy and Literacy skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to learn and think quickly on the job
  • Flexibilty

and

  • A good sense of humour!

The successful candidate will be joining a very friendly and supportive team of staff and governors working with well behaved children. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and can be arranged by contacting the school office on 01892 525402, or email admin@st-marks.kent.sch.uk

St Mark's CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
