Greatstone Primary School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join us from March 2020 to work initially with classes across the school.

The applicant will need to be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and have some experience from working in both key stages 1 and 2. The candidate would need to demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills in order to assist the teacher in delivering learning and to enable the children to make good progress.  

The successful candidate will be required to set up learning areas, lead intervention groups and support children with learning needs, as well as occasionally being responsible for the whole class. They would also need to be flexible and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.

This is a fixed-term appointment (term-time only).

Information about the school

Greatstone Primary School is a Foundation School with twelve classes and approximately 360 children. We also have a 52 place Nursery on site. We are a well maintained rural school set in large open grounds close to the sandy beaches of the south east coast and the unique landscape and nature reserve at Dungeness. The school has good access by road and is just 30 minutes drive from Ashford or 30 minutes from Folkestone. There is also a bus service from Folkestone / Hythe and Dymchurch.

The School and Nursery have a very good reputation within the local area and is renowned for the excellent behaviour of its children and the high expectations of its staff. We have a reputation for delivering a high standard of education in a friendly, happy and supportive environment. The school was rated Good in its last OFSTED inspection carried out during February 2017.
