Teaching Learning and Assessment Lead (Deputy Centre Manager)

Full-Time position - Includes  0.4 Teacher of English at KS4

Salary:  MS/UPS (dependent on relevant experience and qualifications) + TLR & SENA 

We are seeking to recruit a highly experienced qualified teacher to join our Goldwyn Ashford Senior Management Team and leading our highly skilled and experienced teaching team. 

This post holder will also be responsible for the leading and delivery (0.4 fte) of the KS4 English programme (GCSE & Functional Skills). 

This post is suitable for an experienced middle leader or someone seeking to move into a more senior management role within our Outstanding SEMH provision. 

The successful applicant will need to have a positive and highly motivated approach, be flexible and accountable whilst retaining a sense of humour! 

Responsible to Head of Centre and Vice Principal (Teaching, Learning & Assessment) - Goldwyn School. 

  • The suitable applicant must be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • Proven understanding of SEN and differentiation within the classroom, in particularly with students with ASC and SEMH.
  • Recent experience of managing teams of people.
  • Experience of working successfully with teaching staff in a coaching and mentoring capacity.
  • Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines and work to a professional standard.
  • Proven experience and understanding of planning and assessment and improving progress.
  • Knowledge of learning styles & differentiation relating to need types and specific learning difficulties.
  • A commitment to enabling team working.
  • Proven ability to maintain own accurate and professional records.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining calm a professional response.

Goldwyn is an outstanding and unique secondary (11-18) SEMH special school in Kent, operating over 4 sites in Ashford and Folkestone, with each site running its own distinctive educational pathway.

We are a highly regarded and successful school which has expanded its provision to meet the needs of our increasingly complex and vulnerable students.

Following an internal restructuring, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed strategic leader to work with the Principal to maintain the outstanding provision we have created, whilst seeking to develop innovative and exemplary practice within SEMH education.

Goldwyn School is a KCC Foundation Special School for children and young people with an EHCP for SEMH needs from age 11 to 18. Students who are admitted to the school have complex and wide ranging difficulties and come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and a wide geographical area.
